Wiltshire Race League #5

03/06/2012 By Rich Keyzor

The Bath Hilly 10 played host to Race #5 of the Wiltshire Race League, with 115 runners attracted to the start line. The in-form Michael Towler of Avon Valley Runners had another good run but was beaten into second place by Martin Cox of Salford Harriers on the tough course who recorded 57:28. In third place, Alan Buckingham of Team Bath led his club to the maximum points in the Wiltshire Race League ahead of Avon Valley Runners, however the Trowbridge based club did enough to reclaim the top spot in the Men’s table from Chippenham Harriers. Finishing in 9th place David Vaudin of Team Bath remains the League’s top points scorer with a tally of 474.

In the Ladies race, Joanna Thompson of Team Bath took victory in 1:07:49 with her club gaining 20 League points ahead of Avon Valley Runners who still remain second in the Ladies table to Chippenham Harriers. Helen Maria remain the top points scorer with a tally of 424.

The next race in the Wiltshire Race League is the Springfield 5K in Corsham on Wednesday 10th July.
