Over one hundred and sixty runners lined up on the Common in Broughton Gifford for the eighth running of the Foxtrot 5 road race. Simon Nott of Calne Running Club and Michael Towler of Avon Valley Runners broke away from the rest of the field at a very early stage with Simon Nott taking victory in a personal best time of 26:22, twelve seconds ahead of the Avon Valley Runner who led his team to maximum points in the race and now head the table by a clear four points. 

For the Ladies, Michelle Maxwell took another victory in the Wiltshire Race League recording 32:31 ahead of Denise Gretch of Calne SMaRTT and Leanne Tiley of Avon Valley Runners. Avon Valley Runners claimed the 20 League points and are now on level points at the head of the  table Chippenham Harriers, who have a superior ‘goal difference’. 

The next race in the Wiltshire Race League is the Melksham 10 on Sunday September 16th and is also the Wiltshire county championship race for the distance.
