Wiltshire Road Race League #2
Two hundred and twenty runners lined up in cold but dry conditions to take on the Devizes 10K. Simon Plummer of Salisbury A&RC had a storming run to complete the course in 31:49 ahead of Calne Running Club’s Simon Nott who recorded a Personal Best time of 32:10 to take the runners-up spot. In third place Ewen Malloch of Team Bath recorded 33:51 and finds himself as the leading points scorer in the Wiltshire Road Race League.
The Ladies race saw Denise Grech of Calne SMaRTT record a new Personal Best time of 40:01 to take victory ahead of Michelle Maxwell of Chippenham Harriers. Just missing out on a podium position was Jill Westwood of Avon Valley Runners who now finds herself as the leading female points scorer in the League and with Michael Towler finishing fifth it was Avon Valley Runners who took the maximum League points and now sit four points ahead of Chippenham Harriers at the top of Division One.
In the Second Division Frome Running Club have opened up a massive 21-point lead at the top with Slinn Allstars ‘B’ in second.
The next event in the Wiltshire Race League is the Clock Change Challenge 10K at Calne on March 31st.
