UK CAU Inter-Counties Cross Country Championships 2020

Meeting Report

Congratulations to all selected Wiltshire athletes who competed at the UK CAU Inter-Counties Cross Country Championships on the 7 March at Prestwold Hall, Lougborough. The weather was kind but the gloopy mud was not. It made the course extremely tough.

Huge congratulations to Bea Wood [City of Salisbury ARC] who won the U17 women’s race. This adds to her U17 women’s title won last year. 

We had scoring teams in seven of the ten races. The U13 boys came 16^th with Harry Maxwell [Teambath AC] leading the Wiltshire team home in a very creditable 17^th place. The senior men’s team came 22^nd with Ed Knudsen [Avon Valley Runners] finishing in 90^th place. The U17 women’s team also came 22^nd with India Ibbotson [Teambath AC] next home after Bea Wood in 110^th place. The U17 men came 27^th, Patrick Mochan [Swindon Harriers] first Wiltshire runner in 73^rd place. The U15 girl’s team came 30^th with Sophie Nichols [City of Salisbury ARC] placing 30^th. The U15 boys came 36^th with Lukas Bailey [ City of Salisbury ARC] placing 103^rd and the U13 girls team came 38^th, with Maisie McCalla [Swindon Harriers] coming 148^th to lead the Wiltshire team home.
