UK CAU Inter-Counties Cross Country Championships 2020

09/03/2020 By Alexander Copping

Meeting Report

Congratulations to all selected Wiltshire athletes who competed at the UK CAU Inter-Counties Cross Country Championships on the 7 March at Prestwold Hall, Lougborough. The weather was kind but the gloopy mud was not. It made the course extremely tough.

Huge congratulations to Bea Wood [City of Salisbury ARC] who won the U17 women’s race. This adds to her U17 women’s title won last year.

We had scoring teams in seven of the ten races. The U13 boys came 16th with Harry Maxwell [Teambath AC] leading the Wiltshire team home in a very creditable 17th place. The senior men’s team came 22nd with Ed Knudsen [Avon Valley Runners] finishing in 90th place. The U17 women’s team also came 22nd with India Ibbotson [Teambath AC] next home after Bea Wood in 110th place. The U17 men came 27th, Patrick Mochan [Swindon Harriers] first Wiltshire runner in 73rd place. The U15 girl’s team came 30th with Sophie Nichols [City of Salisbury ARC] placing 30th. The U15 boys came 36th with Lukas Bailey [ City of Salisbury ARC] placing 103rd and the U13 girls team came 38th, with Maisie McCalla [Swindon Harriers] coming 148th to lead the Wiltshire team home.

Pictures are available on Facebook and our website and a link to the results.

A pair of Hawkridge wellington boots was left in the Wiltshire tent. Please get in touch with me if you want them back. [xc@wiltshire-athletics.org.uk]
