South-West Track & Field Championships 2024 (incl. SW Inter-Counties)

“I am pleased to let everyone know that the South West Track and Field Championships including the SW Inter Counties which is taking place on Sunday 28th July 2024 has been granted a Level 2 License and is also listed on the World Athletics website.

I have attached a provisional timetable and revised standards for 2024 which can be found here.

Please can you publicise in your clubs and counties and put on to County websites.

Closing date is Monday 22nd July (midnight)

As always the event incorporates the SW Inter Counties which has been set up in Roster as a team competition. It will be two to score per event with 12 points down to 1 and will update live on the day (hopefully)

It will mean that each county will have to declare their athletes two days before the meeting. We can change on the day but only in exceptional circumstances. 

The team manager will need to complete an Excel spreadsheet naming up to 4 athletes per event and the best two will score. 
They will be able to monitor who has entered though the Roster platform but athletes must have entered by the closing date (no exceptions).

In terms of standards athletes should have achieved the standard but if there are any in your county who are close and you do not have anyone who has met the standard then they may be allowed to enter provided the team manager has contacted me by email and we have space in the event.

Could each county make sure I have contact details for the team manager who will deal with the declaration form by end of June latest. This is very important. There is no option to just tell us to include all athletes from a county as we have no way of knowing who is eligible for a particular county.

We hope to make the Inter-County element of the event a much higher focus this year than it has been in the past.

NOTE PLEASE:  to be considered for the Wiltshire team of 4 athletes per event you will need to enter yourself and compete in your county vest.  The team will be selected AFTER ENTRIES HAVE CLOSED and athletes will be notified by the Team Manager – a Team Manager has yet to be identified but their name will appear on this means when one has been identified!
